"designer chris kirby will exhibit his 'spiral lamp' part of a submission of works by tokyo designers keiji ashizawa, mikiya kobayashi, and DRILL design at this year's designersblock exhibition during milan design week 09.
the 'spiral lamp' is made from a single piece of plastic sheet with slits in it.

Tokyo Fiber Senseware ‘09 in Milan
O livro Greg Lynn Form (publicação do escritório do jovem arquiteto Greg Lynn, professor de projeto em diversas universidades no mundo, incluindo a University of Applied Arts de Viena, além de ser um dos ganhadores do Golden Lyon da Venice Biennale do ano passado) diz que na época áurea do Modernismo, a arquitetura era a vanguarda da cultura ocidental, o exemplo a ser seguido pela moda, indústria automobilísta e etc. Segundo um especialista em design de carros, o qual publicou um texto nesse livro, atualmente é a indústria de automóveis e a indústria da moda que sugerem o que há de mais novo e inovador na nossa cultura ocidental.
O site dezeen publicou uma postagem à respeito da La Triennale di Milano, onde haverá uma exposição chamada "Tokyo Fiber Senseware", onde serão mostrados principalmente peças de roupas e mobiliário com materiais inovadores.
"The exhibition is intended to convey the possibilities of new materials developed with Japanese synthetic fiber technology. It will include works developed and designed by over 20 companies, designers and artists, including pieces from designer Ross Lovegrove, architect Shigeru Ban, and motor company Nissan."
